Kakao Entertainment announced on the 26th that the cumulative number of views of Kakao TV original content, which has been introduced since September of last year, exceeded 1 billion as of the 24th.
There are 45 original programs released so far, including dramas, entertainment, and live music shows. Dramas include ‘The Daughter-in-Law’, ‘How to Love Between Men and Women in the City’, ‘Crazy Should we do this?’ Programs such as these are representative examples. We also planned and produced online fan meetings for stars such as Suzy, Park Seo-joon, and Choi Woo-sik.
According to Kakao Entertainment, the cumulative number of original content views exceeded 100 million within three months of its release in December of last year, and has recently shown a steep rise, rising by 100 million every three weeks.
Kakao Entertainment added that, in addition to Kakao TV, its original content is receiving a good response from online video service (OTT) platforms such as Netflix and Wave, and TV channels such as Channel S.
Kakao TV plans to continue to release dramas such as Kim Sae-ron and Nam Da-reum’s high school exorcism drama ‘The Excellent Shaman Gaesim’, Ong Seong-wu’s ‘Shall We Have a Cup of Coffee?’, and Shim Dal-gi and Choi Bo-min’s ‘Shadow Beauty’.
