The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as ‘Gyeonggi Innovation Center’), the startup zone operating organization, announced on the 30th that it successfully concluded the ‘4th Startup 815’ on the 29th.
This event was held online in accordance with the strengthened government quarantine guidelines due to the spread of COVID-19. A total of 8 companies and 10 investment companies participated.
Startup 815 is an investment briefing session for each field of innovative technology held every month by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Gachon University, and the University of Suwon. The 4th Startup 815 was held to support successful investment attraction of startups in the content field (realistic (AR·VR)/games/distribution/content technology, etc.) and to promote active networking between founders and investors.
Participating companies are ▲’Film Place’ (a website where producers can rent filming locations around the world) ▲’Fog’ (a metaverse safety platform based on transportation big data) ▲’Focusley’ (now smarter to read) , immersive reading that you can’t take your eyes off Focusly) ▲’Sponsorship’ (artificial intelligence-based story IP trading market platform service) ▲’Maru Digital’ (measurement of mobility advertising effectiveness and digital signage advertising content using IoT) ▲’Wini Care ‘(Clothing recommendation service and fashion information provision service that combines smart ICT wardrobe and AR) ▲’VS Community’ (non-face-to-face, public library book delivery and return mobile app service) ▲’Newjak’ (reality and reality in a virtual space) XR Virtual Studio Solution, which allows users to enjoy the same cultural activities, participated and introduced their core technology and vision.
The reviewers are North Mountain, Kingo Spring, Shinhan Venture Investment, Serpa Ventures, Credit Guarantee Fund, and Zion Investment. Smilegate Investment, Science and Technology Holdings, and KB Investment participated.
The event featured presentations from companies and feedback from investment experts through the online Zoom platform, and continued with autonomous online networking between companies and investors after the event ended.
An official at the Gyeonggi Innovation Center said, “As a public accelerator and a leading startup hub in the region, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center will continue to do its best to establish a practical channel between startups and investment companies.”
Startup Zone Startup 815 is held on the last Thursday of every month. The 5th Startup 815 is scheduled to recruit start-ups in the ICT field from August 2 to August 13 on the Eventus website.
Meanwhile, the Startup Zone is Korea’s largest startup support cluster, established in 2017 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively foster promising startups in new industries, and operated by the Startup Promotion Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center.
