Kakao Together Value, a social contribution platform of Kakao (Co-CEOs Yeo Min-soo and Jo Soo-yong), is holding the ‘2021 Virtual 815 Run’ Instagram certified donation campaign until the 31st of this month to commemorate the 76th anniversary of liberation.

The ‘2021 Virtual 815 Run’ is a non-face-to-face marathon in which participants run at a time and place of their choice during the month of August to commemorate Liberation Day. Singer Sean and Habitat Korea are hosting this event to support descendants of independence activists, and this is the second event since last year. Kakao Together Values is joining us as a sponsor this year. Individual participants can choose to run 3.1km, 4.5km, or 8.15km. Each target distance contained the meaning of March 1st (March 1st), the year of regaining independence (1945), and Liberation Day (August 15th).

In addition to the 3,000 participants who applied to participate in the non-face-to-face marathon in advance, anyone in the country can participate in donations during the month of August through completion verification. If you post a photo of your completion of the run with the hashtags #2021Virtual815Run, #2021GoodKorea, #KakaoTogetherValue, on your Instagram, Kakao will donate 815 won for each verification to a fundraiser for building houses for descendants of independence fighters.

Aside from the Instagram verification campaign, users can also donate directly to the fundraising box opened by Habitat Korea on Kakao Together Value. If you participate and donate (support, write comments, share), Kakao will donate 815 won per donation.

All proceeds from the campaign, including the 2021 Virtual 815 Run individual participation fee, donations collected in the Kakao Together Value fundraising box, and donations from sponsoring companies, will be delivered to Habitat Korea and used for projects to improve the residential environment of descendants of independence fighters.

Kang Seung-won, head of Kakao Together Values, said, “It is meaningful to be able to participate in a meaningful campaign to support the descendants of independence fighters,” and added, “I hope that many people will have the opportunity to experience the joy of donation through easy donation through running and certification.” He said.
