Neowiz announced on the 8th that it had acquired game developer Gamefleet and incorporated it as a subsidiary. Neowiz said, “Through this acquisition, we plan to not only secure a mobile game lineup but also strengthen our global competitiveness through next new games.”
This reflects Neowiz’s intention to secure diverse IPs, and is the second merger and acquisition this year alone, following mobile game company Sticky Hands.
Gamefleet is a mobile game development company established in 2015 that services ‘Triple Fantasy’. Triple Fantasy is a turn-based card strategy RPG (role-playing game) that can be enjoyed in single-player as well as PVP (player versus player). It was launched globally in February 2016 and received the grand prize at Venture Tonight Demo Day in 2017.
Kim Seung-cheol, co-CEO of Neowiz, said, “Gamfleet is a developer with development and service capabilities,” and added, “We will focus on creating results in the global market by adding Neowiz’s service operation know-how.”
