    Last year, the total sales of companies located in Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, the mecca of the high-tech industry, were calculated to be 109 trillion won. This is a 2.5% increase in one year from the total sales of 107.2 trillion won (1,259 companies) in 2019.

    Gyeonggi Province, the Gyeonggi Provincial Economic and Science Promotion Agency, and the Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation conducted a survey on companies moving into the 1st and 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley from April to July. As a result, there were 1,697 companies moving in, of which 1,487, or 87.6%, were small and medium-sized businesses. It was investigated.

    Specifically, 1st Pangyo was comprised of 85.5% (1,112) small and medium-sized businesses, 7.5% (97) medium-sized businesses, and 4.8% (62) large businesses. Compared to 4.8% (58), the proportion of medium-sized and large companies increased. In the 2nd Pangyo, 375 of the 397 companies were small and medium-sized enterprises, accounting for 94.5% of the total companies. The sales of companies located in the 1st and 2nd Pangyo Techno Valley last year were approximately KRW 109.9 trillion, with 1st Pangyo accounting for 99% at KRW 108.8 trillion. The sales of 159 large companies (60.3%) and medium-sized companies (26.9%) located in Pangyo No. 1 accounted for 87.2% of the total.

    By industry, information technology (IT) 1,096 (64.6%), biotechnology (BT) 228 (13.4%), cultural content technology (CT) 220 (13.0%), and nanotechnology (NT) 19 (1.1). %), etc., with 1,563, high-tech industries accounted for 92% of the total.

    The number of full-time workers is 71,967, and the main age group is 49,151 people in their 30s and 40s, accounting for 72.1%. Among the total executives and employees of Pangyo Techno Valley, 24,902 (34.6%) were research personnel, 19,972 (27.8%) were female, and 11,936 (16.6%) were new employees.

    Gyeonggi Province plans to use the results of this survey as data to promote efficiency in complex operation and establish economic policies.
