Naver announced on the 27th that it achieved an overall A+ rating, one level higher than last year, in the ‘2021 ESG Evaluation’ announced by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS).
In detail, the governance sector received an A+ grade this year as well as last year, the environment sector received an A grade, one level higher than last year, and the social sector received an A grade, the same as last year. Naver is continuing its efforts to strengthen ESG management in the environmental/social sector, including implementing a roadmap to achieve carbon negativity by 2040 and introducing and certifying the environmental management system (ISO14001) and anti-corruption management system (ISO37001).
In this evaluation, 14 companies (9 companies excluding financial companies), including Naver, received an overall A+ grade, and in the governance sector, a total of 8 companies, including Naver, received an A+ grade.
Previously, Naver was the first and only domestic company to obtain an AAA rating in the ESG evaluation of MSCI Morgan Stanley Capital International, a global ESG evaluation agency. Last October, it also received grand prizes at the ‘ARC Awards’ and ‘LACP Vision Awards’, a global annual report and sustainability report evaluation competition.
Sangjin Park, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Naver, said, “It is meaningful in that our will and efforts to become a leading ESG company are being recognized by various organizations,” adding, “Naver has a human rights organization and all members, partners, and users. “Aur is preparing to establish and introduce an advanced human rights management system, and we will continue to strive to become a trusted company by transparently and actively communicating these efforts internally and externally.”
