AhnLab (CEO Seok-gyun Kang), which conducted Korea’s first online ‘Live Tour’ last year (March 2020), announced that the number of online ‘Live Tour’ participants this year exceeded 4,000. The total number of participants in this year’s online ‘Live Field Trip’ was 4,275, which is an increase of 898 (26.6%) from last year (3,377).
AhnLab’s online ‘Live Field Trip’ is a real-time online field trip program that allows two-way communication. As long as you have a PC or smartphone connected to the Internet, you can participate in (access) the tour anywhere, without any restrictions on the number of people. In addition, just like an offline tour, it is possible to deliver various contents such as company introduction, IT and security job introduction, delivery of essential security information, job mentoring, and office building tour. From March 2020 to present, a total of 7,652 people, including middle school, high school, and college students at home and abroad, ranging from domestic remote islands to countries such as Egypt and Morocco, participated in AhnLab’s online ‘Live Field Trip’.
The characteristic of the online ‘Live Tour’ is the realistic ‘realistic feeling’. Field trip participants cited the advantage of being able to look around various spaces within the company through a first-person perspective screen, giving them an experience similar to an actual field trip. In addition, when participants ask questions through real-time chat, they can immediately hear detailed answers from the host or expert (mentor), and the chat room manager answers additional questions through text, which was also cited as an advantage.
AhnLab gathered the know-how from planning and operating the first online ‘Live Field Trip’ in Korea, published a ‘Manual Book’ in March of this year, and is providing it for free. The purpose is to provide free manual books to companies and organizations that want to conduct online field trips so that young people can receive various online learning benefits.
Inchi-beom Inch, Executive Director of AhnLab’s Communication Office, predicted, “As large numbers of people can participate even from a distance and information specialized in the IT and security fields can be provided, the demand for field trips is expected to continue to increase even in the ‘With Corona’ era.” Schools, institutions, or groups that want to participate in next year’s online ‘Live Field Trip’ can apply by email, including the number of participants and desired date.
Meanwhile, in addition to the online ‘Live Tour’, AhnLab operates the ‘Sampyeong-dong Research Institute’, a YouTube channel that shares security and development knowledge, and publishes the webtoon ‘Starting Today, I Start Living with GAB’, which delivers life-oriented security information to prevent damage from security threats. We are making efforts to practice AhnLab’s own ESG management (social value) that takes advantage of the characteristics of an ICT company.
