Future Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Dae-hyun) announced that it will participate in ‘K-PRINT 8’, which will be held at the 23nd exhibition hall of KINTEX in Ilsan from Wednesday, August 26 to Saturday, August 2.

Future Technology Research Institute was established as a research institute based on research and development, product development, and production infrastructure. Based on the development of holographic source technology and optical recording material technology, the goal is to create an upgraded new business through convergence of existing industries and holographic technology.

In addition, from OVD (Optical Variable Device) and CGH (Computer Generated Hologram) source technology, holographic digital printing, high-quality packaging, 3D display component materials (HOE (Holographic Optical Element), DOE (Diffractive Opticla) Element)), by converging with the IOT business in the field of product authentication security, we aim to contribute to the development of the hologram industry and improve the quality of human life through hologram services that respond to the diverse needs of customers.

This exhibition will showcase LUCA-40KM, a retransfer ribbon printer for ID cards, hologram retransfer ribbon, and sublimation ink ribbon products. Regarding this, an official from the Future Technology Research Institute said, “Nationally, most of the ID card printers and hologram ribbons used to issue resident registration cards and driver’s licenses are imported and used in projects led by Japan, the United States, and Europe. In addition, in the case of retransfer ribbon printers and hologram retransfer ribbons, workability and production efficiency are reduced due to the existing dual and individualized card printer and hologram (or Overlay Clear) ribbon transfer (or laminating) device.”

“Accordingly, the Future Technology Research Institute developed a retransfer hologram ribbon product based on a portable retransfer all-in-one issuing device. He added, “By being able to print a sublimation ink ribbon and transfer a hologram at the same time to a card with a single device without a separate laminating transfer device, we have been able to provide services that create market expansion by providing convenient accessibility and usability for users and ID card issuers.” .

In addition, SMART HIT (Hologram Information tag Technology), a genuine authentication hologram sticker label, is also introduced. SMART HIT is a 5 won note and 1 won note type OVD with the highest level of hologram technology, surface uneven hologram with CGH recorded, metal removal, stamped sticker label with design skin, latent security code and variable data digitally. It is a hologram product for product authentication that is printed and provided based on the mobile APP product authentication service.

An official said, “Before 2010, holograms, which were essential for banknotes as a security business for authenticating products, were the most effective item. Since 2010, variable data generation combining IT and IOT technology that enables QR code-based history management and tracking management, sticker labels combining digital printing and design have been expanding the market along with holograms as an authentic product authentication security business. “There are very few genuine authentication security hologram products domestically and internationally that combine hologram and IOT technology. Our company is participating in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s ‘Copyright Protection and Utilization Activation Technology Development Project’, and with the support of the Korea Electronics Research Institute, we are converging hologram and IOT technologies by generating invisible latent security codes and developing genuine product authentication solutions and digital printing technology. “SMART HIT, a genuine authentication hologram sticker label, has been developed to enable the best security and authentication management.”

SMART HIT, the authenticity authentication hologram sticker label, is participating in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s Living Lab Support Project in 2021 and is producing and supplying it to about 30 Star Farm farms in Jeju Island and attaching it to special products of Jeju Island, increasing the value and reliability of the product.

The POOMIN app will also be introduced at this exhibition. The POOMIN app is software that quickly extracts security codes from image pixels acquired with a smartphone camera while linking with the genuine product authentication hologram label. By applying an invisible security code pattern to the label surface and developing latent security pattern design technology, differentiated IOT technology with excellent security characteristics was applied to the label.

An official said, “To prevent forgery and falsification, a product with a genuine authentication hologram applied with standardized IOT technology for each unit of use has been developed, which has superior security characteristics than the hologram applied to banknotes. After downloading the POOMIN app to your mobile phone, you can check the authenticity of the product in real time by scanning the holographic authentication label attached to the product. Through this, consumers can experience simplicity and speed in the process of checking the authenticity of the product. “It can be done,” he said.

Meanwhile, ‘K-PRINT 2023’ is the 26th International Printing Equipment Exhibition (KIPES 2023), Korea Label Exhibition (K-Label 2023), Korea Packaging Exhibition (K-PACK 2023), and Korea Digital Printing Solutions Exhibition (K-Label 2023). Digital Print 2023), Korea Textile Exhibition (K-Textile 2023), and Korea Sign & Advertisement Exhibition (K-Sign&AD 2023). The field of printing continues to evolve and innovate, opening a new blue ocean in various forms such as industrial printing and special printing. ‘K-PRINT XNUMX’, hosted by Korea E&X Co., Ltd. and the Korea Printing Culture Association, provides a place to look at the future vision and prospects of the printing industry at a glance.
