[Las Vegas (USA) = AVING News] Aromyx, a sensory science data company, held ‘CES 1′ held in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 5 days from January 8th (Thursday) to 4th (Sunday, local time). participated in and unveiled AI technology that recommends products by biologically replicating consumers’ senses of taste and smell.
A demo program that records the facial expressions made by visitors who received three beer products from a bartender when they drank each product and the questionnaire responses entered after tasting them, and then analyzes them to recommend three beer brands that the visitors might like. demonstrated the technology.
This technology suggests food, beverages or scented products to consumers based on how the product’s taste or smell matches the consumer’s personal tastes. It determines whether consumers react positively or negatively to the product, and recommends and lists products that best meet the consumer’s preferences among the products registered in the system. Unlike other recommendation algorithms, Aromics’ technology focuses on taste, smell, and human biological responses to AI rather than simple inference based on other people’s purchasing behavior. Aromix says this feature enables personalized recommendations that serve as the basis for product comparison and selection.
Aromix first undergoes preliminary screening and analysis in a laboratory to objectively measure a specific consumer’s perception of the taste or smell of the product. Based on the results of laboratory research and data analysis, we build a customized consumer-facing interface with access to an extensive database of product profiles. The interface prepared in this way can be used either in stores or online, and finds products that consumers will like through Q&A about their tastes and senses.
“If you know what consumers will like, why guess?” said Elise Kern, senior vice president of data and insights at Aromix. Curating consumer decision-making can widen the gap between encouraging buyers to make a confident purchase and abandoning the intended purchase. Aromix’s sensory analysis technology helps retailers recommend products to consumers using data that leverages human insight into taste and aroma. “Each consumer will be able to use this to identify the flavors and scents that suit their tastes, then receive recommendations for foods, beverages, perfumes, etc., or even discover products they didn’t know about before,” she said.
