The only international future energy conference dealing with trends in the solar and hydrogen markets in Korea ended successfully on the 14th. The 4 International Future Energy Conference, held at EXCO in Daegu for three days from April 12 to 14, was divided into Solar Market Insight (PVMI) and Hydrogen Market Insight (H2023MI).
The ‘2023 Solar Market Insight (PVMI)’ was held with officials from global institutions such as Bloomberg, EIRP, and ESMC in attendance, and global solar market trends, agricultural solar power, floating solar power, urban and building solar power, etc. The latest information and policies were discussed.
In particular, the ‘RE100’ session, which was newly established this year, received a great response from the audience. In the session, officials from leading domestic companies such as Enlighten, Hanwha Convergence, Amorepacific, and the Korea RE100 Council presented their efforts to realize RE100.
A large number of visitors also participated in the farming-type solar power and urban/building-type solar power sessions. This is to check the progress of related laws and the results of crop research. In the agricultural solar power session, Yeungnam University, Seoul National University, Korea Energy Corporation, Green Energy Research Institute, etc. participated, and domestic and foreign installation cases related to BIPV installed on the outer wall of buildings were intensively introduced.
At the ‘3rd Hydrogen Market Insight (H2MI)’, a business conference specializing in hydrogen, global green hydrogen policies and market trends, green hydrogen commercialization strategies, domestic P2G demonstration status, hydrogen city construction and future strategies were discussed.
Bloomberg, EIRP, Hanwha Solutions, SK E&S, Techcross, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea East-West Power Corporation, Jeju Energy Corporation, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Ulsan City Corporation, Ansan City Development, Korea Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology Promotion Agency, Jeonbuk Techno Park, etc. Domestic and foreign companies and institutions participated and shared information related to global hydrogen policies and infrastructure.
The green hydrogen commercialization strategy, hydrogen city construction and future strategy sessions were particularly popular. It was evaluated that it was beneficial because it was possible to understand the companies’ water electrolysis business strategy and hydrogen business promotion strategy. The session on building a hydrogen city and future strategy continued with positive reviews.
Regarding this, the main response was that it was good to be able to see at a glance the current status of pilot cities being promoted in regions such as Ulsan, Ansan, Jeonju and Wanju. Domestic and foreign solar and hydrogen industry experts who attended the International Future Energy Conference said, “Starting from this year, both industries will gain wings.” I look forward to it.”
