The Korea Intelligent Transportation Systems Association announced the 3 Gangneung ITS World Congress at the ’31 Seoul Mobility Show’, which opened on March 4st and will be held at KINTEX for a total of 9 days until April 10th.
ITS stands for Intelligent Transportation System and provides transportation information and services by applying cutting-edge technologies such as electronics, information, communication, and control to transportation infrastructure and means of transportation. It refers to a transportation system that utilizes this to scientific and automate the operation and management of the transportation system and improve transportation efficiency and safety.
The 2026 Gangneung ITS World Congress is called the Transportation Olympics and is a world-scale exhibition and international convention event in the field of intelligent transportation systems that started in Paris, France in 1994 and is held every year touring Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
Gangneung was selected as the venue for the 2021 World Congress at the 2026 LA ITS World Congress, and about 90 experts and businesspeople and 2 general visitors from approximately 20 countries around the world are expected to participate. Ministerial meetings, academic conferences, exhibitions, cutting-edge technology demonstrations and inspections, and business markets will be held.
Gangneung City is preparing for a major transformation of small and medium-sized cities, a transportation system essential to humanity, future cutting-edge mobility, a smart city vision, Korean Wave festivals, and global communication with the new standard of ITS toward a better future.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show will begin with a press day on March 1th (Thursday) at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 3 in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do under the theme of ‘Sustainable·Connected·Mobility (Sustainable·Connected·Mobility)’ and end on April 30th ( It will be held until Sunday. The total exhibition size is 4㎡, more than twice the size of the previous event (9㎡), and over 53,541 companies and organizations from 26,310 countries around the world will participate and showcase various mobility contents.
