Hyundai Kefico (CEO Yoo Young-jong) participated in the ‘3 Seoul Mobility Show’ held for a total of 31 days at KINTEX from March 4st to April 9th, and unveiled its own ultra-fast EV charger product and charging technology.

Hyundai Kefico allowed visitors to experience the charging cable management system directly at this mobility show and experience the product from the user’s point of view.

Hyundai Kefico’s EV charger consists of a charging post that provides charging management functions such as vehicle charging connection and communication, user billing processing, and charging amount monitoring, a power bank that converts AC/DC, and maintenance control service. In addition, based on powertrain system engineering capabilities accumulated over 30 years, it is characterized by implementing optimization of charging technology by developing three types of core parts such as power module, PLC communication controller, and charging cable in-house.

Product design considering safety and eco-friendliness is also a noteworthy factor. Safety is ensured by lowering the risk of fire by separating the space between the high voltage part and the low voltage part in the charging post, and eco-friendly cooling oil with biodegradability is used considering the safety of using industrial chemicals.

At the same time, the power module parts were designed separately for AC/DC and DC/DC with the goal of maximum reliability and durability to improve cooling performance and maintenance convenience. At the same time, it developed its own software for maintenance control and built a separate CS response system that provides breakdown repair and preventive maintenance solutions.

An official from Hyundai Kefico said, “Hyundai Kefico’s EV charger is expected to resolve customer complaints about power module durability and A/S, which have emerged as chronic problems in the existing charging market.” It is possible to build various charging systems up to 360 kW.”

Hyundai Kefico is exploring business models for charging business operators and corporations that own electric vehicles, and is also reviewing a connection with Hyundai Capital’s charger leasing business (product for corporations). Furthermore, it is planning to enter the market by establishing a collaboration structure with Hyundai Motor Group, such as Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Engineering, for the charger ecosystem.

Hyundai Kefico, which announced its transformation into a company specializing in integrated vehicle control and power/charging control for electric vehicles, plans to accelerate the establishment of eco-friendly mobility infrastructure, starting with ultra-fast EV chargers. The EV charger Blue Plug will be officially released in the second half of 2023.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show will begin with a press day on March 1th (Thursday) at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 3 in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do under the theme of ‘Sustainable·Connected·Mobility (Sustainable·Connected·Mobility)’ and end on April 30th ( It will be held until Sunday. The total exhibition size is 4㎡, more than twice the size of the previous event (9㎡), and over 53,541 companies and organizations from 26,310 countries around the world will participate and showcase various mobility contents.
