Participating companies shared their experiences participating in CES 2023, including winning the CES 2023 Innovation Award and exhibiting, and announced business directions and prospects for 2023. In addition, policy directions for supporting mobility startups were presented through subsequent meetings and panel discussions.
In particular, the presenters agreed that an investment policy is needed to revitalize Korea’s mobility ecosystem through long-term investment, rather than short-term investment as seen in overseas investment trends. In addition, as convergence and convergence between different industries accelerates, it is difficult for one company to solve all problems, and cooperation between companies is important for the long-term development of the mobility industry, emphasizing the need for government support for startup cooperation models. .
Professor Jeong Gu-min of Kookmin University, who chaired the seminar that day, said, “As the mobility industry has higher barriers to commercialization than other industries, a policy support system is needed to strengthen overseas competitiveness.”
In addition, Kang Nam-hoon, Chairman of the Korea Automobile Industry Association, and Lee Jong-wook, Chairman of the Korea Mobility Society, added, “We will do our best to provide policy support to revitalize the mobility ecosystem in cooperation with government-related ministries and the National Assembly Mobility Forum.”
This event was held with about 100 people participating. One participant of the seminar expressed his thoughts, “There are many Korean companies with top-level technology active in overseas markets, so I am looking forward to the direction of their future development.”
Meanwhile, the 3 Seoul Mobility Show, held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do from Friday, March 31st to Sunday, April 4th, saw a visible change into a full-fledged convergence exhibition with the theme of mobility, with approximately 9 visitors. It ended with a showing. The Seoul Mobility Show will be held again in 2023 as Korea’s only international mobility show accredited by the Organization of the International Automotive Industry (OICA).
