Korea Convergence Technology Development Institute (CEO Nam Moon-won) announced that it will participate in the ‘2 Drone Show Korea 23’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 25 (Thu) to 2023 (Sat).
The Korea Convergence Technology Development Institute is a company that has developed drones, Internet of Things (IoT), and 4D printers using the 3th industrial revolution technology. In particular, in the field of drones, the company explains that it is developing vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing flight equipment (VTOL) with the goal of developing drone solutions capable of performing long-distance and high-altitude missions, and improving its professional capabilities based on various cutting-edge technologies.
In this exhibition, the Korea Convergence Technology Development Institute will introduce ‘KFTD-V001’, a VTOL aircraft currently under development. It is a hybrid system equipped with an electric motor and an internal combustion engine in synchronization, and unlike other aircraft that are exclusively responsible for vertical take-off and landing and thrust generation during flight, all power trains in the aircraft are electrified. At the same time, it has proven its ability to perform missions with only electric motors even at long distances and at high altitudes.

Based on these advantages, it is considered a drone solution optimized for low-carbon and eco-friendly demand, and the frame and system are being improved to increase the stability of the aircraft during flight, officials explained.
The Korea Convergence Technology Development Institute said, “It is a solution that is being developed by focusing the company’s capabilities in line with the growing demand for VTOL. We will achieve stable gas supply and secure distribution networks by the second half of this year, and consider going overseas.”
“In addition to this, we are developing specialized aircraft suitable for the water sampling field, which is currently in constant demand, development of exploration and monitoring aircraft operated for environmental exploration and monitoring purposes, and development of drones for fire extinguishing and extinguishing that can be used in the field of fire safety. He added, “We are in the process of manufacturing and testing aircraft with the goal of commercialization in 2025 with drone manufacturing and exploration experts who already have expertise in the field.”
