THE GREET INC. (CEO Yang Woo-jeong) announced that it will participate in ‘CES 2023’ held in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 4 days from January 5 (Thursday) to January 8 (Sunday, local time), 2023.

The Grit is a company that developed a 5-step multi-use container circulation system with the goal of reducing disposable plastic waste. The company explains that by using this, anyone can change a disposable container to a multi-use container with a simple change without any additional cost or hassle. As part of this, we are developing and introducing a reusable container collection box that fully applies Internet of Things (IoT) technology and a recyclable container with a user-friendly design and function.

The Grit introduces its 5-stage multi-use total circulation solution at this CES. It consists of △recyclable containers with excellent design and quality △IoT/ICT-based recyclable container collection box △state-of-the-art recyclable container washing station △direct logistics system △recyclable container circulation platform.

The core of this system is the so-called ‘Full-IoT’ collection box, which receives used reusable containers, recognizes the type, and returns the deposit appropriate for each type to the user. The deposit is immediately paid to the user account registered on the platform, which serves two roles: increasing collection efficiency and improving storage.

To date, The Grit is known to have won a contract to provide reusable containers to Samsung Electronics’ DX division and is operating a recyclable container circulation solution by providing 1.5 million recyclable containers and 700 to 800 recyclable container collection boxes per month.

With up to 20 million plastic containers being discharged per day in Korea, it is known that domestic regulatory authorities are discussing regulatory measures such as expanding environmental charges to all disposable plastic containers produced in the future. However, The Greet emphasized that it sought to develop such a solution by recognizing the limitations of the lack of solutions and detailed plans that do not impose additional costs on consumers, restaurants, governments, and local governments.

An official from The Grit said, “The public’s concerns about the reality of having a goal but no clear alternative were deepening,” and added, “We have developed a total solution for reusable containers as a platform and system that will provide a better direction for sustaining the global environment.” “I ended up doing it,” he explained.

By participating in this CES, The Grit plans to lay the foundation for targeting the U.S., North America, and other overseas markets.
