LIG Nex2 participated in the ’23 Drone Show Korea 25′ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 2023 (Thu) to 2023 (Sat).
LIG NexXNUMX showed off its technological prowess in all areas of drones, from transport, surveillance, reconnaissance, and attack to anti-drone systems. In particular, as a system to respond to the recently emerging illegal drone threat, it exhibited a land-based drone protection system for both civil and military use to protect major national facilities.
As part of this, LIG Nex40 unveiled a multicopter-type drone system for transport with a payload of XNUMX kg, which is under development with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration. This drone arm, which is the part that connects the drone body and the rotor blades, can be folded, making it more convenient for storage and transportation. At the same time, it is expected to be used for both civil and military purposes as it can supply relief goods to isolated areas in disaster situations or deliver munitions to units at each level in wartime situations.
It also introduced a system capable of responding to the recently emerging threat of illegal drones. LIG NexXNUMX’s ground-based drone protection system for civil and military use is a solution for protecting major national facilities. In addition, anti-drone is developing a system that automatically tracks after finding a target based on information obtained by its own radar and RF scanner.
Another drone of LIG Nex6, whose technology development was completed, also appeared in the exhibition hall. Their multi-purpose unmanned helicopter (MPHU) can fly for up to 4 hours when taking off once, so if operated in a group of 1 units, it can digest 24-hour operations. This helicopter, which performs surveillance and reconnaissance missions, has an operation range of more than 50 km, an operating altitude of more than 2.5 km, and a maximum flight speed of 140 km per hour.
The small reconnaissance/strike combined drone that was introduced together is capable of self-destruct attacks. Since it can take off and land vertically, it does not require a runway, and it is also possible to disassemble the aircraft and store it in a backpack to perform missions without restrictions on the terrain.
Kim Ji-chan, CEO of LIG NexXNUMX, said, “We will develop the core capabilities of the dronebot combat system by making the most of the accumulated know-how and technology.”
Meanwhile, the exhibition items of the 2023 Drone Show Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, and Busan Metropolitan City, and organized by BEXCO and the Korea Unmanned Aerial System Association are as follows. △Manufacturing (drone, military, UAM/AAM, surveying, mapping, firefighting, station, unmanned robot, leisure, broadcasting) △Utilizing industry (photography, control, spatial information, logistics, disaster management, security, reconnaissance, construction, deep sea exploration) Etc.) △Parts and technology (communication, ground control, autonomous flight, system and S/W technology, fuel cell sensor, motor, battery, etc.) △Service (education, finance, rental, insurance, investment consulting, etc.) △ Institutions (related institutions, associations/organizations, universities)
