PLASTECO’s exclusive agent, Advanced Materials & Chemicals Co., Ltd. (AMC Co., Ltd, CEO Hong Jae-yong), will hold ‘KOPLAS 3 (KOPLAS 14)’ held at KINTEX in Ilsan for 18 days from Tuesday, March 5th to Saturday, March 2023th. announced that it will participate in the 27th International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition.

Japan’s PLASTECO is a global leader in eco-friendly supercritical foaming technology using inert gas. By applying inert supercritical gas foaming technology, we have commercialized a high-magnification, high-heat-resistant PLA foam extrusion sheet production system, and a customer company that has applied this technology has succeeded in producing high-magnification, high-heat-resistant PLA foam molded products.

An AMC official said, “PLA foam extruded sheets using PLASTECO’s technology have secured a foaming ratio of about 20 times or more and heat resistance and strength equivalent to PSP, depending on the conditions given in the post-process. In addition, the foam extrusion technology can be applied to resins of all grades, including PLA foam and extrusion grade.”

The main advantage of supercritical gas foaming was that it was eco-friendly. ▲Using supercritical gas of inert gas, there is no residual toxicity that occurs during conventional chemical foaming, and ▲Using supercritical gas of inert gas can prevent global warming that occurs during conventional physical foaming. According to the official, it does not fall under environmental regulations such as the Paris Agreement, Montreal Protocol, REACH, and RoHs.

Stability is also considered an advantage. By supplying a fixed amount of inert supercritical gas, destruction and excessive growth of bubbles are prevented and uniform growth of bubbles is possible. In addition, explosion-proof equipment is not required due to the constant supply of inert supercritical gas.

An official said, “PLASTECO is expanding its sales radius around the world, including China and the United States, through this technology. “In addition, this technology can be applied to the foaming of various plastics other than PLA, and can be applied to various industries such as textiles, medical care, and food.”

On the other hand, KOPLAS, which celebrates its 2023th anniversary in 27, provides a variety of attractions from raw materials for plastics to molds, processing machines, related auxiliary devices, automation solutions, printing, packaging, semi-finished products, and finished products, and presents the present and future of related industries. It provides a ‘place for the plastic rubber-related industry’. As it is held at the same time as the Korea Material·Composite Material and Equipment Exhibition (K-Mtech) and the International Mold and Related Equipment Exhibition (INTERMOLD KOREA), you can meet various products in one place.
