LG Electronics announced on the 5th that it will unveil a new large-capacity built-in type refrigerator at CES 2023, which opens in Las Vegas, USA on the 14th of next month.
The new product has a capacity of 721L (liters), the industry’s highest among built-in type refrigerators, and LG Electronics explained that it has expanded the food storage capacity by about 10% while maintaining the exterior specifications of the refrigerator the same as the existing product. To maximize the use of internal space, the flow path through which cold air passes was redesigned, and the structure of key refrigerator components such as the evaporator that absorbs heat was also improved.
At the same time, a new type of ice function, ‘Mini Cubed’, was added. At 1.7cm wide, 2.3cm long, and 0.8cm high, it boasts a small size that makes it convenient to place in a bottle or cup containing a beverage. In addition, you can choose from four types of ice, including 50mm round ice, cubed ice, and basic cubic ice cubes.
The top right door of the product has a mirror glass design that can be used as a mirror and a ‘knock on’ function unique to LG Electronics refrigerators. When you knock on the door, the interior light turns on, allowing you to check the type and amount of food inside the refrigerator without opening the door. At the same time, the entire door is finished with mirror glass, giving it a clean and luxurious design.
The differentiated performance and hygiene functions of LG Electronics refrigerators have been inherited. The ’24-hour automatic temperature control’ function maintains the temperature change inside the refrigerator within ±0.5℃, keeping food in the refrigerator fresh for a long time. In addition, the ‘Door Cooling+’ function allows even cooling of the refrigerator door with strong cold air discharged from the top of the refrigerator compartment, and the ‘UV Nano’ function that periodically irradiates UV (ultraviolet rays) LED kills up to 99.99% of bacteria on the outlet side. LG Electronics explains that it can be removed.
