Hyundai Mobis participated in ‘CES 1’, the world’s largest information technology (IT) exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA for a total of 5 days from January 8th (Thursday) to 4th (Sunday, local time) and unveiled various new future mobility technologies.
Hyundai Mobis announced that it judged this CES stage as an opportunity to communicate with the global market in earnest after the COVID-19 pandemic, and prepared the largest exhibition space ever (780㎡, approximately 236 pyeong). Here, Hyundai Mobis plans to introduce a variety of new future mobility technologies that can be mass-produced and emphasize its future business direction and carbon neutrality strategy through an on-site media presentation.
At this CES, Hyundai Mobis introduces future mobility technology to visitors under the theme of ‘Hi! For Better Tomorrow!’. The core is ‘M-Vision TO’ and ‘M-Vision HI’, which are new PBV (Purpose-Based Mobility) concept models that will be unveiled for the first time at CES.
‘M.Vision’ is a brand that symbolizes Hyundai Mobis’ future mobility technology philosophy and vision. Among them, ‘TO’ means moving toward the future, and ‘HI’ means emphasizing user-centered experience (humanity).
M-Vision TO is an autonomous vehicle based on an electrification system. The four pillars located on the front and rear sides of the vehicle are equipped with new technologies such as sensors such as cameras, radar, and lidar, as well as e-corner modules and MR (mixed reality) displays. Inside the M-Vision TO, seats that can be folded or rotated to suit the PBV are applied.
M-Vision HI is a PBV developed for leisure, relaxation, and outdoor purposes. It is designed to use the vehicle glass as a large display so that you can enjoy watching movies or shopping online. In particular, M-Vision HI is equipped with a long-distance manipulation technology that uses the gaze like a computer mouse.
In response, Hyundai Mobis said, “We have equipped the vehicle pillar, which was considered only a structure to support the vehicle body, with cutting-edge systems such as autonomous driving sensors, an e-corner module capable of independent driving and steering, and an MR display,” adding, “We are creating a new future in the PBV field.” “We will open it,” he said.
At the same time, Hyundai Mobis will unveil various new mobility technologies that can be mass-produced at this CES. Among these, the swivel display and new concept rear suspension technology won the CES 2023 Innovation Award. The swivel display features a moving structure in which a 32-inch ultra-large display moves up and down, and the new concept rear wheel suspension is an innovative technology that can be applied to future vehicles such as electric vehicles and PBVs to achieve functional integration and weight reduction.
In addition, a dedicated exhibition space will be set up for global customers to introduce 19 additional new mobility technologies that can be mass-produced. Representative examples include future cockpit integrated solutions (MVICS 4.0), LED grill lighting, and hologram AR-HUD.
Hyundai Mobis plans to carry out aggressive sales activities centered on these technologies and expand new order opportunities. As of the third quarter of this year, Hyundai Mobis’ global order intake amounted to $3 billion, and 33.3% of its annual order target has already been achieved.
In addition, a media presentation will be held focusing on future business and technology development directions and global open innovation strategies. At the presentation held at the Hyundai Mobis exhibition hall on the morning of the 5th local time, key executives will directly introduce and emphasize the company’s business and technological competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis operates a separate ‘HR Zone’ within the exhibition space to use this CES event as an opportunity to promote the company to global talent and connect them with recruitment. In the HR zone, information about the company, business items, and work areas is provided through kiosks, and visitors interested in employment can also consult with a human resources representative. This is part of a global talent recruitment program, and Hyundai Mobis plans to continue to actively utilize various overseas exhibition events as opportunities to recruit global talent.
