The Green Plastic Alliance, the Korea Resource Recycling and Packaging Technology Institute, and the Society for Carbon Neutral Circular Economy held a business agreement ceremony at the ‘KOPLAS 16 Green Plastic Alliance Conference’ held at KINTEX, Ilsan on the 2023th (Thursday).
Through the business agreement that day, the three organizations agreed to cooperate in forming a true resource circulation system and building a circular economy in response to climate change, carbon reduction, and transition to a carbon-neutral industrial era.
In the Green Plastic Alliance, more than 80 companies, research institutes, and organizations working to transform into a carbon-neutral society are working together, and research activities and consortium formation are being conducted to propose policies, solve social and industrial problems, and revitalize the carbon-neutral industry. It promotes collaboration among member companies.
Korea Institute of Resource Recycling and Packaging Technology supports research on policies and systems for revitalizing multi-use containers and multi-use packaging to reduce single-use waste plastics, supports activities of related companies, and conducts carbon-neutral contribution packaging research. In addition, the ‘Korea Reuse Circular Economy Association’ will be launched in April to promote the circulation industry to expand the supply of multi-use containers and promote the recovery, cleaning, and reuse of multi-use containers and packaging materials.
The Society for Carbon Neutral Circular Economy is an international society established to effectively respond to climate change and contribute to sustainable economic development led by experts from universities, research institutes, companies, and government agencies at home and abroad. Research and technology necessary for a carbon-neutral circular economy It supports knowledge and policy development necessary for national policy establishment and business activities, including development. In addition, it is promoting close collaboration with petrochemicals, materials, manufacturing, automobiles, agriculture, livestock, and forestry, which have high carbon emissions, focusing on environment, climate, and energy.
Through the signing of this business agreement, a carbon-neutral resource circulation council was launched centering on the three institutions, and cooperative promotion of proposals and research and development for sustainable policies and technologies in a wide range of fields, and holding academic conferences, seminars, and exhibitions at home and abroad decided to do it
Specifically, in accordance with the 6R policy of the Green Plastic Alliance, we cooperate with domestic and foreign industry-academia-institute networks, policy establishment, proposals, and campaigns for the resource circulation economy, such as development, production, and service of carbon-neutral recycled plastic and bioplastic materials.
In addition, it plans to cooperate in promoting multi-use containers and services for the reduction of single-use products, and developing and activating carbon-neutral contribution packaging designs. They also agreed to cooperate in the development and activation of energy recovery and natural resource recycling technologies to build a carbon-neutral and resource-circulating economy.
On the other hand, KOPLAS, which celebrated its 2023th anniversary in 27, provides various attractions from raw materials for plastics to molds, processing machines, related auxiliary devices, automation solutions, printing, packaging, semi-finished products, and finished products, and presents the present and future of related industries. A ‘place for the plastic rubber-related industry’ was established. As it was held concurrently with the Korea Material·Composite Materials and Equipment Exhibition (K-Mtech) and the International Mold and Related Equipment Exhibition (INTERMOLD KOREA), various products were introduced in one place.
