Clicar Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Na-yul) participated in the ’12 ICSB World Congress’ business showcase held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju for three days from Wednesday the 14th to Friday the 3th.
Clica is a startup that has been developing automatic tiny machine learning (Auto TinyML) technology since its establishment in 2021. They are a domestic company that is proving the world’s best AI model lightweight performance by developing source technology that automatically compresses the capacity of computer vision artificial intelligence (AI) models by up to 95% and automatically converts them to a model format compatible with hardware. .
Furthermore, Clica supplies ‘Tiny AI’, an all-in-one platform that encompasses AI deployment and operation that automatically lightweights the developed AI model and assists quick and economical commercialization of major target hardware. aims to. To this end, we have conducted a PoC with two large domestic companies and one global company to date, and plan to conduct a closed beta for major customers this month and then pursue commercialization of Tiny AI throughout the year.
At this exhibition, they attracted the attention of visitors by presenting a demo model that could intuitively demonstrate the performance of Tiny AI. ‘YOLO’, a camera- and sensor-based object recognition model demonstrated at the showcase, was reduced by about 150.9% from the existing 40MB in size to 75MB through the lightweight process of Tiny AI.
This effect is due to Klica’s proprietary Quantization Aware Retraining technology. This is a technology that not only compresses a 2-bit model from 8 bits to 4 bits or less, but also recovers performance lost due to weight reduction through retraining. Thanks to this, YOLO, which has been lightened with Tiny AI, has improved its average frames per second from the existing 8.57 FPS to 30 FPS, showing a further improvement in performance in inverse proportion to the reduced capacity.
In response to this, a CLika official said, “The rate of reduced capacity may vary depending on the type of model applied, but it boasts the effect of greatly increasing model operation efficiency.” He added, “As a result, corporate customers can reduce the cost of building infrastructure for AI model operation. “This means we can significantly lower it,” he added.
In this way, Klica, which has proven its lightweight performance mainly in the vision AI field, plans to actively expand its scope of application in the future and contribute to the acceleration of commercialization of AI services. An official said, “Currently, it can be said that AI technology is in its infancy as it develops into an industry and begins to create value.” He added, “In this situation, reducing corporate investment costs and improving operational cost efficiency will enable companies to enter the AI market. “We expect that this will also have the effect of increasing consumer satisfaction with their services,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the ‘2023 International Small and Medium Business Council World Conference’ was held to promote the global growth and development of small and medium-sized businesses and prepare ways for cooperation. The International Council for Small and Medium Business (ICSB) is the world’s first international organization for small and medium-sized businesses aimed at developing small and medium-sized businesses, and was established in the United States in 1955. It has been 2009 years since the ‘International Small and Medium Business Council World Conference’ was held in Korea, following Seoul in 14. This world conference is hosted by Gwangju City and the International Small and Medium Business Council and organized by the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, the Small and Medium Venture Business Policy Society, and the LINC3.0 Project Group of local universities. It is organized by This world conference, held under the theme of ‘Entrepreneurship for Humanity and Peace’, will feature various events such as △professional academic presentations △keynote speech by representative entrepreneur △proclamation of the Gwangju-Entrepreneurship Declaration △exhibitions and global export consultations to introduce and promote startup products and sales. It is operated as a program.
