Professor Kim Tae-kyung of Kwangwoon University presented research results on domestic AI developer trends and AI code assistants at the 12 International Council for Small and Medium Business World Congress (ICSB World Congress) ‘K-Entrepreneurship Global Forum (ICSB Conference)’ held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju on the 2023th. announced.
Professor Taekyung Kim introduced the development environment of domestic companies. “We are attracting developers from major IT companies, such as the so-called ‘Nekaraku Dividend.’ At the same time, the ransom of developers has skyrocketed,” Professor Kim said, adding, “But in reality, there are only a few top developers. He said, “A top developer appears already at the age of 20.”
Regarding the difference between special developers and regular developers, Professor Kim Tae-kyung said, “Special developers solve everything from development to maintenance and design on their own, and their problem-solving skills are also excellent. He explained, “Having one special developer is much more effective than having dozens of regular developers,” and diagnosed, “However, the reality is that ordinary companies cannot supply development resources in abundance.”
In addition, he said, “When special and general developers work as a team, they encounter unexpected problems. There are additional costs beyond the monthly salary. “This means the potential cost is rising,” he said, adding, “If you have business experience, you can solve this problem, but in the case of a startup, it is difficult to solve the problem.”
Professor Kim Tae-kyung then mentioned AI code assistant. Professor Kim said, “The speed of creating code has become very fast. The speed of learning while coding has also increased. “The ability to learn by looking at optimized code is outstanding,” she said. Professor Kim, who said that advanced developers do not seem to feel that they are receiving much help from the use of AI code assistants, said, “On the other hand, I believe it will be used effectively in terms of inspection.”
