I-Tech (CEO Kim Chang-on) announced its participation in the ‘2024 World IT Show (WIS 2024),’ which will be held at COEX in Seoul from April 17th (Wednesday) to 19th (Friday).
I-Tech is a specialized medical device company for dry eye treatment, developing and manufacturing ‘NuriEye’ directly. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea has recognized it for its technological capabilities, proven effectiveness, and safety. Through this exhibition, the company aims to showcase its technological capabilities to domestic and international buyers through product experiences and explore overseas markets.
The company will showcase the ‘NuriEye-5800′ as its flagship product at this exhibition. Dry eye syndrome occurs when the muscles around the eyes stiffen, affecting the nerves, blood vessels, and tear circulation, decreasing tear quantity or quality. The NuriEye-5800 gently relaxes the muscles around the eyes with vibration massage and air pressure massage, promoting smooth circulation of nerves, blood vessels, and tears. Additionally, it helps dissolve foreign substances accumulated on the eyes or inside the eyelids’ meibomian glands with warm thermal massage, facilitating clean tear circulation. The device’s advantage lies in its simple usage with just one ON/OFF button for easy access to the automatic mode.
The NuriEye-5800 offers 15 minutes of 15-type vibration massage, five levels of air pressure, and hot/cold thermal massage. The company said this device relieves dry eye syndrome and improves the treatment of eye-related diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma.
Moreover, the NuriEye-5800 received approval for government clinical trials and conducted trials on 144 dry eye patients at two designated university comprehensive hospital clinical trial centers. In addition, a paper was published in the January 2014 issue of the British Journal of Ophthalmology, and the safety and efficacy evaluation results of new medical technology were announced in November 2014. Since July 2016, it has performed non-reimbursable treatment procedures at nationwide ophthalmology hospitals.
I-Tech emphasized, “As the saying goes, ‘Eyes are the windows to the soul,’ the eyes are one of the most important organs in the human body. Since 6 out of 12 brain nerves are connected to the eyes, which deliver 83% of the information processed by the brain, it is essential to use products verified for safety and efficacy. NuriEye is currently the only dry eye treatment medical device validated through clinical trials.” Furthermore, it was explained that the characteristics of NuriEye, as confirmed by clinical trial intraocular pressure measurements, led to a decrease in intraocular pressure due to its eye massage function.
Recognized for its technological prowess, I-Tech has achieved results such as selection for the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy’s World-Class Product, approval from the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s New Medical Technology Evaluation, and certifications including GMP, InnoBiz, Corporate Research Institute, Venture Company, FDA registration, and Seoul International Invention Fair awards.
Internationally, it exports 1,000 units annually to the United States, 2,000 units annually to Hong Kong, and 500 units annually to Mongolia. It has also conducted sample deliveries and product introductions to countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Russia, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, and Dubai for about a year. Additionally, it aims to expand into the eastern United States, Western Europe, and Central and South America.
