    Pablo Air Selected as Unit Operator for Drone Delivery in Incheon City Consortium

    Pablo Air achieved a record of 207 flights and 1,909 km flown during the 2022 urban drone logistics delivery demonstration project, completing the Drone Regulatory Sandbox Project.

    Pablo Air (CEO Kim Young-jun) has been selected as the unit operator for drone delivery in the Incheon City consortium as part of the “2024 Drone Demonstration City Construction Project” organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

    This project aims to discover and propose drone utilization models tailored to the characteristics of various industrial drones and to support the discovery of demonstration cities tailored to local characteristics. In particular, the project plans to accelerate the commercialization of drone delivery by applying the “K-Drone Delivery Standard” developed in line with the “K-Drone Delivery Commercialization Project.”

    As the unit operator for drone delivery in the Incheon City consortium, Pablo Air will expand and demonstrate a long-distance drone delivery model connecting Deokjeok Island and Soya Island, followed by Jawol Island and Yeongheung Island for approximately nine months from the agreement date on the 11th.

    Pablo Air, a specialist in autonomous swarm control for crewless aerial vehicles, has accumulated continuous research and development and service demonstration experience in the drone delivery field. This marks their third participation in a project organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, following the 2022 Drone Regulatory Sandbox Project (Incheon City urban logistics delivery sector) and the 2023 Drone Demonstration City Construction Project (Yeongwol).

    Kim Hyun-gon, Head of the Pablo Air Open Innovation Headquarters, stated, “Through this project, we will not only develop a stable drone delivery model in island areas facing population decline in line with the ‘K-Drone Delivery Standard’ but also allow the general public, logistics, and distribution companies, and other participants to experience the utility of drone delivery services starting this year. We will continue our research and development efforts and collaborate with companies and institutions to make various attempts to ensure the project’s viability.”
