World Hydrogen Expo 2025 (hereinafter WHE 2025), hosted by the World Hydrogen Expo Organizing Committee (Co-chairs: Nam-hoon Kang, Chairman of the Korea Automobile & Mobility Association, and Jae-hong Kim, Chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Alliance), opened on Thursday morning at KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

By integrating the international hydrogen conference and the H2 MEET exhibition from this year, WHE 2025 is being held on an unprecedented scale. A total of 279 organizations, institutions, and companies from 26 countries are participating, with the event running for four days from December 4 to December 7.

The international conference, held from December 4 to December 5, is organized into three tracks: Leadership & Market Insight, which covers policy and industry trends from major governments and industries; Hydrogen Deep Dive, which focuses on technology and industry strategies presented by leading companies and experts; and Country Day, which highlights hydrogen industry cases from three countries.

In addition, the international exhibition, running from December 4 to December 7, spans 22,000 square meters and covers the entire hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, transportation, and utilization. It serves as a venue for substantive technical exchange and business cooperation among global companies and institutions.

In his welcome remarks at the opening ceremony, Kang said, “World Hydrogen Expo, which begins today, has steadily grown alongside the development of Korea’s hydrogen industry since it was first launched in 2020 under the title H2 MEET. This year, by expanding and restructuring both the exhibition and the conference, we have created a practical global hydrogen cooperation platform with participation not only from global companies but also from government officials of many countries.”

He continued, “With 279 companies from 26 countries taking part, this event has firmly established itself as a global hydrogen industry exhibition and offers a valuable opportunity to see the latest technologies from leading players firsthand. In particular, major domestic and international hydrogen leaders, including Hyundai Motor Group, which is expanding its business across the entire hydrogen value chain from production to storage, transportation, and utilization, as well as Kolon Industries, 3M, and HD Hyundai Infracore, will showcase their core technologies. In addition, a variety of conferences will be held to promote international coordination, special business cooperation, and technical exchange in line with the scale of this global event.”

Kang concluded by stating, “Now in its third year, the H2 Innovation Award will serve as a venue to discover innovative technologies and outstanding companies, accelerating industrial innovation through the participation of large enterprises, SMEs, and startups in the hydrogen sector. We will also jointly host business consultation programs with KOTRA to create opportunities for exchange between domestic and overseas companies and for entry into global markets. The WHE 2025 Organizing Committee will do its utmost to ensure that this event becomes a platform for global exchange and cooperation that supports the advancement and growth of the hydrogen industry.”

World Hydrogen Expo 2025 brings together hydrogen companies from around the world to showcase the latest technologies and trends while creating opportunities for global collaboration. Starting this year, the Hydrogen International Conference and the hydrogen industry exhibition H2 MEET have been integrated into a single event that combines exhibitions and conferences. Covering the entire hydrogen value chain from production to storage, transportation, and utilization, the expo is expected to establish itself as a global hub for sharing innovative technologies and market strategies.
