CMES (CEO Sungho Lee) participated in the 2024 Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX 2024), held at EXCO from October 23 (Wednesday) to October 26 (Saturday).

CMES combines artificial intelligence (AI), 3D vision, and robot guidance technologies to deliver intelligent robot automation solutions. It offers full-stack engineering services from system design to mass production.

The company’s core technologies include 3D vision sensors that act as the robot’s “eyes,” AI-based image processing, perception/judgment algorithms that act as the “brain,” and robot guidance software for flexible and precise control. CMES’s 3D vision AI robotics technology is applied across various industries, including e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, secondary batteries, and mobility, serving global top-tier companies.

At FIX 2024, CMES showcased solutions enabling robot automation for manufacturing processes previously performed only by manual labor.

    Among the highlighted technologies were:

    * Advanced Dispensing Solution guides uniform surface application by recognizing objects with varying shapes or flexible materials and maintaining consistent distances and angles.

    * Advanced Assembly Solution: Performs variable assembly tasks in complex, multi-product production facilities without human intervention or robot path guidance.

    * Piece Picking Solution: This method identifies the types, positions, and picking points of randomly stacked products, selecting and sorting required items accurately.

A CMES representative stated, “Our solutions automate non-standard manual tasks in manufacturing industries that require human dexterity and flexibility, replacing humans in hazardous environments for processes like coating, welding, assembly, and transportation.”

The representative added, “CMES’s intelligent robot automation solutions aim to reduce musculoskeletal disorders, accidents, and injury risks caused by repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on more valuable and productive roles. We are continuously enhancing our technologies for broader industrial adoption.”

CMES has experienced rapid growth through mass production based on global customer references. Its revenue grew from KRW 2.5 billion in 2021 to KRW 7.6 billion in 2023, achieving an average annual growth rate of 74%. The company established a U.S. subsidiary in Seattle in 2021 to target the high-demand North American market. It expanded its global reach with an office in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2023 to explore Southeast Asia. Additionally, CMES received the highest grade of “AA” in a technology evaluation for a technology-based listing, recognizing its technological strength, and was listed on KOSDAQ on October 24.

The representative further noted, “As a company with robust core technologies, we are developing future technologies for robot automation in collaboration with global footwear manufacturers and other key industries, including logistics and secondary batteries. Our intelligent robot solutions are recognized for their technical stability and are being deployed in new business initiatives of domestic and international corporations.”

The company also recently signed a strategic MOU with Seegene Medical Foundation to pioneer robot automation in disease testing. The two companies will collaborate across all stages, from product discovery to development, validation, and expansion. CMES aims to deliver high-quality products and open new horizons in disease testing automation.
