DOGU (CEO Jinhyo Kim) participated in the Future Innovation Tech Expo 2024 (FIX 2024), held from October 23 to 26 at Daegu EXCO.
Since its establishment in 2017, DOGU has emerged as a leading Korean company in autonomous robotics. Specializing in products for indoor and outdoor environments, the company has developed a diverse product lineup, demonstrating its expertise in autonomous navigation, AI, and advanced sensing technologies.
DOGU has built a unique Autonomous Security Robot (ASR) service that integrates functions like patrol, disinfection, and guidance, automating facility management and human interaction services. This expertise was fully displayed at FIX 2024 when the human-friendly service robot iRoi debuted.
iRoi has cutting-edge autonomous navigation capabilities. It features cameras and sensors covering wide viewing angles and an AI model supporting object recognition. The robot detects obstacles and people to ensure safe and stable autonomous operation. Through IoT networks, iRoi streams real-time video and images to control centers, enabling responsive monitoring. It also provides instant alerts to building managers in emergencies such as fires, abnormal noise, intruders, or medical emergencies.
The robot supports advanced features like facial recognition for access control and UV-A/C-based automatic sterilization, ensuring clean indoor environments. With a facial screen that mimics human expressions and a large touchscreen interface, iRoi offers an intuitive and approachable user experience.
A DOGU representative explained, “iRoi is equipped with an array of sensing systems, including 2D and 3D LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, and thermal cameras, to enhance safety, convenience, and security in indoor spaces. Its high-precision sensing and autonomous navigation performance have been widely recognized for ensuring safe operation.”
The representative added, “We have supplied our autonomous patrol robots, including iRoi, to over 50 clients nationwide, giving us unparalleled operational experience in the domestic market. We are delighted to showcase our capabilities at FIX 2024, a platform dubbed the Korean CES, and to introduce our pioneering innovations to a broader audience.”
FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
