Kyung Chang Industrial Co., Ltd. (CEO Il-ho Son) participated in the “2024 Future Innovation tech eXpo (FIX 2024)” held from October 23 to October 26 at Daegu EXCO. Specializing in automotive parts manufacturing, Kyung Chang Industrial showcased its advanced products, including the KC1 electric motor, which features water and air cooling.
The 160W KC1 motor uses a hybrid cooling system, eliminating the need for separate air-cooling components and optimizing vehicle interior space while effectively managing heat. Kyung Chang achieved this by designing internal air channels within the motor housing and facilitating active air circulation through a rotating rotor, which maximizes cooling efficiency. The KC1 also incorporates a hairpin winding structure to minimize energy loss, enhancing its thermal management even during high-power operation.
Kyung Chang Industrial also presented its “Foldable Pedal,” which was developed for autonomous vehicles. In autonomous driving modes, the pedal remains recessed at floor level and automatically extends when driver control is required, providing an optimized interior layout for different driving scenarios.
Kyung Chang noted that the KC1 and its unique cooling system were introduced at the Innovation 4 Mobility forum in Frankfurt last September, drawing significant attention from global clients and buyers. The company emphasized that FIX 2024 offers an opportunity to showcase its extensive expertise and international competitiveness in advanced mobility components.
“Our goal is to supply sophisticated components that support the future mobility experience, positioning ourselves as a key partner in the automotive industry. We are committed to continuous qualitative and quantitative growth,” a representative said.
FIX 2024 featured specialized exhibitions, conferences, and business programs focusing on mobility, robotics, AI, and startups. The Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo 2024 at EXCO’s East Wing showcased trends in UAM, autonomous driving, batteries, components, and services. Meanwhile, the 2024 ICT Convergence Expo Korea, held in the West Wing, exhibited AI, big data, blockchain, ICT, and metaverse technologies. The 2024 Daegu Robot Expo displayed industrial robots, humanoid robots, and digital transformation solutions for the robotics industry. The “Startup Arena” was introduced to facilitate meetings between startups and experts from startup accelerators like Samsung C-Lab and Plug and Play.
