Smart Grand Technology (SGT) (CEO Ok-Chul Shin) participated in H2 MEET 2024, held from September 25 to 27 at KINTEX, Goyang.

SGT, which started with the construction of the first hydrogen refueling station in Changwon’s Palyong district in 2016, has established itself as a specialized company in handling hydrogen and high-pressure gases. Over the past eight years, SGT has been involved in the construction of around 30 hydrogen refueling stations and supplies equipment for hydrogen gas permeability testing, hydrostatic pressure testing for containers in extreme temperature environments, and hydrogen refueling and discharging simulation systems to evaluate the durability of vehicle containers and valves.

SGT showcased its Hydrogen High-Pressure Repetitive Operation Test System at the event, designed to verify hydrogen components (such as valves) under the KS B ISO 19880-3 certification standards. This equipment conducts repetitive high-pressure testing at up to 100 MPa at room temperature, with additional tests at high and low temperatures to assess any deformation or change in product quality. The system supports up to 100,000 repetitions, offering a comprehensive environment for standard certification tests. It also includes a system that recovers used hydrogen gas, reducing operational costs.

SGT also presented its Mobile BOG Measurement System for evaluating the performance of liquid hydrogen storage tanks, a Nozzle Repetition Test System for testing nozzle durability under ISO 17268 standards, and a Vent Stack for measuring and releasing evaporated gas from inside hydrogen tanks.

An SGT representative commented, “The government’s plan to build 2.9 million hydrogen passenger vehicles and 1,200 hydrogen refueling stations by 2040 means the market is expected to grow rapidly. SGT is leading the charge by offering equipment that strengthens the safety of liquid hydrogen production and refueling facilities.”

The representative added, “We will continue to expand our gaseous hydrogen refueling station construction and hydrogen component testing equipment development while actively investing in technology for early entry into the liquid hydrogen market. We also aim to secure stable growth by discovering domestic partners and exploring export opportunities.”

H2 MEET is a specialized hydrogen industry exhibition for Korean and international companies and institutions involved in hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. From this year, H2 MEET aims to become a professional event that will enhance participation from global hydrogen industry companies, generate tangible results, and contribute to understanding South Korea’s hydrogen economy ecosystem. Starting this year, it will be held in conjunction with H2WORLD and concurrently with the K-BATTERY SHOW 2024 and HARFKO (Heating Air Conditioning Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition—Korea) 2024 at KINTEX 1.
