Team Rhythmicals (CEO Park Ju-hyuk) announced they will participate in the 2024 PlayX4 B2B at KINTEX Hall 1 in Ilsan from May 23rd to 26th.

Team Rhythmicals is a rhythm game development team formed in 2018, composed of four individuals with expertise in various fields of rhythm game development. In 2020, they released the mobile rhythm game ‘Coxeta’ and have provided services since then. It has achieved 180,000 downloads based on Google Play, primarily from Southeast Asian and South American countries such as the Philippines, Brazil, Indonesia, Russia, and Vietnam.

They will showcase ‘Coxeta’ at this exhibition as their main offering. Coxeta’s most notable feature is adding its proprietary system, ‘Gravity Notes,’ to the traditional 5-key mobile rhythm game format, maximizing the feel of playing. The Gravity Notes system involves notes falling from the top according to unique sounds or distinctive features, allowing players to experience enhanced gameplay in mobile rhythm games while maintaining familiar play styles.

Moreover, it has been optimized to run smoothly even on devices with lower specifications, like the Galaxy S5, ensuring smooth gameplay in countries with lower specifications.

A Team Rhythmicals official stated, “To secure content competitiveness, we aim to collaborate with small-scale creators. Recently, various composers and virtual YouTubers have been active. We actively utilize their songs to establish our position in the subculture market. Creators can promote their songs through platforms like YouTube or SoundCloud and the game ‘Coxeta,’ creating a symbiotic structure.

As part of this effort, Team Rhythmicals aims to meet various individuals in the gaming industry at this exhibition to find opportunities for the game’s growth. They particularly look forward to meetings with companies related to the high-demand rhythm game market in the Philippines, Japan, and Taiwan, where many downloads are generated. Additionally, due to the nature of rhythm games, they anticipate securing various music through meetings with music industry professionals.

In this way, while Team Rhythmicals aims to enter the large markets of Japan and Taiwan, especially where relevant events or gaming industries exist on a large scale, they explain that there have been poor download results due to a lack of promotion of Coxeta in those countries. Therefore, these countries urgently need marketing to become a global subculture rhythm game.

Furthermore, they stated, “We have been selected as a developer for the 6th Google ChangGoo Program this year. To further target the Philippine market, we have confirmed participation in the PGDX game show in late July and are in discussions with the Philippine Music Copyright Association. We aim for 500,000 global downloads this year and are preparing various content, features, and business model updates for this purpose.” They added, “Ultimately, our goal is to achieve sales of 30 billion won with a 1% market share in the mobile rhythm game market through Coxeta. If Coxeta demonstrates satisfactory results in the market, we will develop other rhythm games and advance as a specialized rhythm game developer.”

Hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by Gyeonggi Content Agency the 2024 PlayX4 B2B event will showcase new releases and experiences from domestic and international game companies under the theme “More than the Fun of Games.” The event will also feature side programs such as a retro market, e-sports competitions, and cosplay events.
