Hyundai Motor Group has announced that the HMG Driving Experience Center will commence its 2024 season in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, on April 5th (Friday).
The HMG Driving Experience Center consists of the Hankook Tire Technoring Test Track (1.26 million m²), a two-story customer-exclusive building spanning 10,223 m², and eight driving experience courses. It is the largest facility in Korea, and various driving experiences and brand experiences can be enjoyed simultaneously.
The eight driving experience courses, offering dynamic driving experiences, include a braking course, dry track circuit under harsh conditions, wet track circuit, 4.6km high-speed circuit, multipurpose driving course experiencing gymkhana and slalom, wet oval course experiencing drift, kick plate course, and Asia’s largest off-road course consisting of slopes, gravel, sand, bumps, and water crossings designed for SUVs.
Hyundai Motor Group will also introduce various driving programs to allow customers to fully experience the performance of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
The driving programs consist of ‘Driving Experience,’ where customers can systematically learn driving skills from basics to racing driving techniques through direct driving, and ‘Driving Pleasure,’ where participating customers and accompanying customers of all ages can enjoy driving directly or indirectly without pressure.
In the 2024 season’s ‘Driving Experience’ program, reflecting customer demands for high-level sports driving and permanent circuit driving, the ‘Track Experience’ program will be conducted at the Inje Speedium (located in Inje, Gangwon-do).
The ‘Track Experience’ program allows customers to experience the Avante N, Ioniq 5 N, and the Avante N1/N2 Cup Car (Hyundai N Festival participating vehicle). It is characterized by providing systematic education for circuit driving, enabling a smooth transition to the Hyundai N Festival motorsports competition. In particular, a specialized program will be developed to control the 650-horsepower high-performance electric vehicle Ioniq 5 N, providing customers with a safer and more enjoyable driving experience.
A new program called ‘Camping Experience’ will be introduced in the 2024 season’s ‘Driving Pleasure,’ and the ‘Junior Driving Experience’ program will be enhanced.
The ‘Camping Experience’ program, which can be enjoyed with family members, will be operated at an auto camping site near the HMG Driving Experience Center. Participants can enjoy one night and two days of camping with up to four people along with a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or Kia EV9, experiencing excellent product features such as electric vehicle V2L function and spaciousness and enjoying the scenery of Taean.
The Junior Driving Experience program for young customers has been diversified to offer families various options. New programs for children aged 4-6 or 7-9 have been introduced, allowing them to create car models and control them through a dedicated app, providing fun with cars.
A Hyundai Motor Group official stated, “The number of customers visiting the HMG Driving Experience Center is increasing yearly,” adding, “In the 2024 season, we have prepared programs for families to enjoy together beyond experiencing vehicles. We will lead the way in advancing and establishing domestic car culture through even more new and diverse programs.”
Since its official opening season from September 2022 to 2023, the HMG Driving Experience Center has attracted more than 20,000 visitors. The 2024 season will commence ticket sales on March 11th (Monday) and operate from April 5th (Friday) to December 1st (Sunday).
