Naver Webtoon announced on the 18th that it won the world’s best webtoon application at the ‘ 2021 APAC Awards ‘ announced by global mobile data analysis company Sensor Tower .
According to Sensor Tower, as a result of analyzing the 2021 download and sales indicators of webtoon applications around the world , Naver Webtoon’s global webtoon platforms (Naver Webtoon , WEBTOON, LINE WEBTOON, LINE MANGA) showed the highest combined figures . In addition to Asia, including Korea, Naver Webtoon recorded the highest number of downloads and highest sales among webtoon applications in North America, including the United States .
Naver Webtoon provides popular webtoons around the world under names such as ‘WEBTOON ’, ‘LINE MANGA’, and ‘LINE WEBTOON ’ not only in Korea but also in the United States , Japan , and Southeast Asia. . Last month, global monthly active users (MAU) reached a record high of 82 million , and monthly transaction volume also exceeded 100 billion won .
Currently , webtoons are being viewed through Naver Webtoon’s global platform in more than 100 countries in 10 languages around the world . In particular, in the United States, the number of Generation Z users under the age of 24 exceeds 70%, forming a fandom among young readers and growing rapidly .
