Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, built the ‘Seongnam Global Convergence Center’ within Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley, Siheung-dong, Sujeong-gu, and opened its doors on the 30th.
Seongnam Global Convergence Center is a public knowledge industry center (formerly an apartment-type factory) that houses start-ups, leading companies, support facilities, and research institutes in the information and communications industry and high-tech manufacturing. The city invested 97 billion won over the past two years and three months to build a global convergence center with a total floor area of 36,617 m2 on a land area of 5,837 m2, three floors underground, and eight floors above ground.
It was created with facilities such as 60 rental spaces for start-up companies, 7 spaces for sales for leading companies, a cloud lounge, public relations center, financial investment lounge, and a 207-space parking lot.
Among these, the pre-sale space has been occupied by leading companies. These companies promote collaborative projects such as mentoring with start-ups.
The city supports global marketing and product commercialization of resident companies by establishing a cooperative corporate support platform, such as holding seminars related to high-tech industries and promoting convergence technology development support projects.
The center’s promotional and exhibition lounges are planned to be operated as open spaces for local residents to promote culturalization of the industry.
The opening ceremony of the Seongnam Global Convergence Center was held this afternoon in the public relations hall on the first basement level of the center, with about 50 people, including Seongnam Mayor Eun Soo-mi, in attendance.
