A total of 5,300 people applied to participate in the ‘7th Nexon Youth Programming Challenge (NYPC)’, and ‘Round 1’ and ‘Round 2’, which were held online since mid-August, were successfully concluded by Nexon Co., Ltd. He said he did it.
This year’s NYPC raised expectations among youth interested in coding through differentiated problems containing Nexon’s development know-how and a detailed competition method to expand participants’ challenge opportunities, and the number of applicants reached 5,000 for the second time in history, following 2018. It passed.
‘Round 1’, which was conducted as an absolute evaluation for a total of 5 days from August 18th to 22nd, featured a variety of novel questions using Nexon’s popular game IP such as Kart Rider, Crazy Arcade, and Maple Story, and earned a certain score or higher. A total of 1,600 people advanced to ‘Round 2’.
NYPC, where about 30% of all applicants passed ‘Round 1’, held the final round to determine the finalists through ‘Round 2’, which was held on August 28 and September 3 in a time-limited problem-solving format. The round ended.
NYPC plans to confirm a total of 60 finalists this month and hold an offline final competition at the Nexon headquarters in Pangyo on October 29.
Kim Jeong-wook, Chairman of the Nexon Foundation, said, “NYPC is establishing itself as an experiential coding competition that even students with limited programming experience can participate in in a fun and easy way,” and added, “The finals will be held in October to match the passion of participants who like coding.” “I will prepare thoroughly for the competition,” he said.
Meanwhile, NYPC, co-hosted by Nexon and the Nexon Foundation and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korea Creative Content Agency, and Game Culture Foundation, was launched in 2016 with the purpose of increasing youth interest in coding and improving their capabilities, and is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year. .
