Naver D2SF (D2 Startup Factory) announced that it will hold its 11th campus technology startup contest and begin discovering and investing in student startup teams.
Naver D2SF’s Campus Technology Startup Contest is a program aimed at discovering potential student startup teams at an early stage, helping them grow, and providing opportunities for investment and cooperation. It has been conducted regularly every semester since 2016, and has established itself as a representative growth program for promising student technology startup teams.
Any college or graduate student startup team with a plan to solve problems using technology can apply for the campus technology startup contest. In particular, support is available regardless of whether a corporation has been established or the stage of technology development, making it a rare opportunity for technology startups that need a long time to prove their value in the market to explore growth potential in the early stages.
Naver D2SF provides a three-month incubation program to the final selected teams. First, we provide funds, cloud infrastructure, and space to move into Gangnam so that you can focus on technology development. For technological growth, Naver’s technological know-how is also actively passed on by providing opportunities such as feedback from Naver’s technology leaders and space in Naver’s headquarters. In addition, we plan to provide investment and cooperation opportunities through Naver D2SF business mentoring and technology startup networks so that student startup teams can grow into technology startups.
Meanwhile, Naver D2SF has led the growth of student startup teams through campus technology startup contests. Of the 49 teams finally selected so far, 22 have succeeded in establishing corporations and attracting investment and are growing steadily. Mobility startup ‘Mobiltech’ and ‘Flask’, which developed an AI animation automation solution, are representative examples that led to investment by Naver D2SF after incubation. ‘B.Doo’, which developed video AI technology, was acquired by Naver Webtoon after going through the Naver D2SF technology startup contest and investment.
Naver D2SF leader Sang-hwan Yang said, “For student technology start-up teams to grow well, an incubation program optimized for technology start-ups is needed. As before, this D2SF contest will also actively discover promising student start-up teams so that they can discover market opportunities. “We will actively support you so that you can grow.”
