Lapulen is a filler for facial plastic surgery that Samyang Holdings Biopharm Group began developing in 2015 and obtained approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in 2021. It uses PCL (polycaprolactone), a medical biodegradable polymer material, as its main ingredient, and uses the patented technology of Samyang Holdings Biopharm Group, so you can expect natural volume with less foreign body feeling compared to existing PCL fillers.
Lafuln is a combination of the German words ‘lauter’ (pure) and ‘füllen’ (to fill/full), meaning ‘to fill purely’.
At this fall academic conference, Samyang Holdings Biopharm Group introduced the characteristics of porous PCL microspheres, the core ingredient of Lafuln, and their differences compared to existing fillers. In addition, the procedure was demonstrated and clinical cases were presented together with domestic cosmetic plastic surgeons.
In particular, the lecture received a positive response from the audience by providing practical hands-on lectures, such as actually injecting an injection into a silicone model made to resemble the human body. In a survey conducted on site by Samyang Holdings Biopharm Group, more than 95% of the audience responded that they were satisfied with the presentation.
In addition, an exhibition booth was set up to promote the brand and provide product consultation to boost sales. The booth was equipped with an optical microscope so that the porous PCL microspheres, a result of research and development, could be directly inspected, and samples that could be touched and felt for the product were provided to enhance brand reliability.
