POSCO ICT announced that it is launching A.WORKS 3.0, its RPA (SW robot) solution that significantly enhances user convenience and operability. Accordingly, we plan to hunt two birds with one stone: expand the market by popularizing RPA and target the No. 1 spot in the domestic market.

In the case of the domestic RPA market, foreign solutions initially became the mainstream as the market began to form with the introduction of the 52-hour workweek, but solutions from domestic companies, including POSCO ICT, have been replacing the related market since last year.

On the 25th, POSCO ICT held ‘2022 A.WORKS Day’ at the InterContinental Seoul COEX Hotel and launched A.WORKS 3.0. At the event venue, about 70 people from partner companies such as Hana Financial TI, Shinsegae I&C, and Megazone, and from client companies such as Daiso and the Korea Federation of Credit Unions attended, showing great interest in the new functions and major application cases of A.WORKS.

The newly released A.WORKS 3.0 has enhanced functionality in two major aspects. First, the remote control function for operating bots has been strengthened to enhance operability, which is becoming more important as RPA spreads. For example, if a problem occurs on the bot PC, the work center remotely connects to the bot PC to help solve the problem. In addition, it has the advantage of being equipped with its own configuration management module, allowing changes in the work process being performed to be visually confirmed in detailed detail without the need for a separate solution, allowing it to be used as a reference for problem solving during the maintenance stage.

In terms of RPA users, it is characterized by providing a function that allows users to perform tasks on another PC at the same time while running RPA on one PC without the need for a separate PC dedicated to bots.

In addition, we plan to continue to expand the area of automation by implementing hyperautomation that combines various AI solutions such as OCR (Optical Character Recognition), Chatbot, and Task Mining. To this end, we plan to continuously expand the area of automation by field. We are creating an ecosystem with leading solution companies.

POSCO ICT launched A.WORKS, an RPA solution, in 2019 and supplies solutions to various fields such as distribution, manufacturing, and public sector, including financial institutions including Hana Bank, Shinsegae Department Store, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Agro-Fisheries Products Distribution Corporation, Korea Federation of Credit Unions, and Daiso. I’m doing it.

On this day, Hana Financial Group announced that since the first introduction of RPA in 2019, it has currently introduced and operated about 250 bots and is seeing a saving effect of more than 2.2 million hours of work time. Kangwon National University was the first national university to apply RPA, sharing a case where it experienced a 33% reduction in work time and a 90% reduction in inquiry calls in tuition payment information processing, and announced plans to continue to expand the introduction of RPA in the future.

Global consulting firm McKinsey predicted that 85% of companies around the world will adopt RPA by 2025. RPA experts predict that in Korea, company-wide adoption will be promoted over the next 3 to 4 years, especially in large corporations, including the financial sector. Domestic companies that initially introduced RPA and felt its effects are seeking to improve work productivity by expanding the target area of RPA through combination with OCR. This trend is expected to accelerate further next year.

Meanwhile, RPA is a solution that automates tasks handled by people through software robots. The introduction of solutions is becoming more and more active as it has the advantage of being able to automatically process simple, repetitive tasks with relatively low investment costs in a short period of time without making major changes to the existing business system.
