Samyang Group and Huvis announced that they will hold the ’24th Nature Love Blue Heart Online Drawing Festival’ for elementary and middle school students in Jeonju and Jeonbuk regions.

The Nature Love Blue Heart Text/Image Festival is an event co-hosted by Samyang Corporation, Samyang Chemical Company, affiliates of the Samyang Group, and Huvis, a chemical fiber material specialist. It started in 1996 to raise awareness of the importance of the environment and has been ongoing for 27 years. Starting this year, to revitalize the festival, the existing writing section was abolished, and the number of participants in the drawing section, which had a high participation rate, was expanded to include middle school students.

This event was held offline every year at Huvis Jeonju Plant 1, but has been operated online since last year due to COVID-19. The event will be divided into the preliminaries and the finals, and applications for the preliminaries will be accepted online for two weeks from November 1st to 14th, and then 200 finalists will be selected through internal screening.

The finals will be held online in real time using the video conferencing system ‘Zoom’ on November 27, and winners will be selected by age group (lower elementary school students, upper elementary school students, and middle school students) through a fair evaluation by external judges.

The total prize money for the winning works is 17 million won: ▲3 grand prize winners (1.5 million won each) ▲3 gold prize winners (1 million won each) ▲3 silver prize winners (700,000 won each) ▲3 bronze prize winners (50 million won each) 10,000 won) ▲Encouragement prize: 15 people (prize money: 300,000 won each) ▲173 winners (cultural gift certificates: 10,000 won each) A total of 200 people will be awarded. The awards ceremony will also be held online, just like the finals.

Kim Yong-kwan, plant manager of Samyang Corporation Jeonju EP Plant, said, “Starting this year, the number of participants in the drawing category has expanded to include middle school students, so we expect more diverse and creative works to be submitted.” He added, “Due to COVID-19, this year will inevitably be held online again. “We hope to hold it offline next year so we can reflect on the importance of the environment in beautiful nature.”

Meanwhile, to participate, elementary and middle school students from Jeonju and Jeonbuk regions must submit drawings on topics related to nature and the environment. Detailed participation methods and competition schedule can be found on the official website of the Nature Love Blue Heart Painting Festival.
