Krafton Co., Ltd. has tentatively announced its performance for the third quarter of 2022. This year’s third quarter performance was based on consolidated financial statements applying the Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS), recording sales of KRW 433.8 billion, operating profit of KRW 140.3 billion, and net profit of KRW 226.4 billion.
Amid the decline in overall market size due to global economic uncertainty, Krafton achieved stable quarterly performance by continuously developing customized strategies for each platform, service, and region to meet gamers’ expectations.
Sales in the PC and console divisions in the third quarter continued to grow due to Battleground’s solid traffic trend and the influx of new users after becoming free. The PC division achieved its highest quarterly sales since 2019, reaching KRW 131.1 billion, up 48% from the previous quarter.
The newly introduced Deston map, production site content, and supercar collaborations with McLaren and others gained great popularity, increasing traffic in North America and Western regions, and targeting a variety of global users. The console sector also grew by 22% compared to the previous quarter and 133% compared to the same period last year, raising expectations for future growth.
The mobile sector recorded KRW 282.4 billion, down 12% from the previous quarter and 26% from the same period last year. Blackpink’s in-game concert and the release of the new map NUSA attracted user participation and interest, and sales continued to grow through the expansion of various paid content based on this. We plan to continue targeting users by securing a user base for low-end devices, such as lightening the build to attract new users, and collaborating with top soccer players and supercars.
