AhnLab announced that the number of participants in its online ‘Live Field Trip’ program in 2022 has exceeded 5,000.
The number of participants in the annual field trip has also steadily increased, with 3,377 people participating in the first year of the online ‘Live Field Trip’ in 2020, 4,275 in 2021, and 5,321 in 2022 (5,064 as of 11/24, 5,321 expected at the end of the year).
AhnLab launched Korea’s first (2020/3) online ‘Live Field Trip’, a non-face-to-face real-time field trip program for students whose career experience opportunities have been reduced due to the spread of COVID-19.
AhnLab’s online ‘Live Field Trip’ is conducted through real-time streaming on YouTube. Applicants can participate for free by simply accessing the link (URL) provided by AhnLab with a device (PC, tablet PC, smartphone, etc.) capable of connecting to the Internet.
AhnLab provides customized programs for each level, from middle school students to college students. Middle and high school students can learn security rules to follow in their daily lives and learn about various jobs in the security field through game-type content developed by AhnLab. College students can obtain practical information needed to prepare for employment in the security field through career mentoring where they ask questions and receive answers in real time from various AhnLab current employees working in the field of interest.
AhnLab’s online ‘Live Tour’ is characterized by the possibility of large-scale participation as there are no restrictions on number of people or location. Jeong Chun-ok, a career teacher at Taepyeong Middle School, where all students (678 students) participated in the field trip, said, “It was good that the participation method was simple and the explanation was provided at a level that all 1st to 3rd grade middle school students could understand.” “Students were able to learn security knowledge in an immersive way through game-type content with a sought-after concept.”
“In 2023, we will work harder to improve the quality of education by leveraging the know-how of operating a field trip program for more than 12,000 youth over three years,” said Inchi-beom In, managing director of AhnLab’s communication office. “The demand for security technology is gradually increasing.” “I will do my best to contribute in some small way to nurturing future talent in the field,” he said.
Meanwhile, in addition to the online ‘Live Tour’, AhnLab ▲ operates the IT and security knowledge sharing YouTube channel ‘Sampyeong-dong Research Institute’ ▲ publishes a lifestyle-oriented security webtoon ‘I started living with GAB from today’ ▲ ’13th Seongnam City Hall Boys’ We are continuing our efforts to spread security knowledge to future generations in an easy and fun way, such as by participating in the Creative Science Festival’s IT and security experiential booth.
