The ‘Corporate Innovation Awards’, which celebrated its 29th anniversary this year, is an awards ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is given to companies with excellent innovation performance in order to encourage and spread corporate management innovation. Since last year, in line with the trend of the times where the new social role of companies is being emphasized, ‘ESG management’ evaluation indicators have been added and reflected in the review.
KCI is actively engaged in product innovation and ESG management activities, including launching the world’s No. 1 and 2 hair conditioning materials through independent technology development and successfully commercializing MPC (methylacryloyloxyethyl phosphoryl choline) for the second time in the world. KCI has CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), RSPO (Sustainable Palm Oil Roundtable), EcoVadis (corporate CSR evaluation organization) Gold Label, ISO 14001 (Health and Safety Management System), and ISO 45001 (Environmental Management System). ), etc., and was recognized for its ESG performance by obtaining various certifications for corporate social responsibility. EcoVadis evaluates the overall CSR activities of companies around the world, including environment, labor, human rights, and ethics, and awards the ‘gold level’ only to companies that are in the top 5%.
In addition, we have obtained regulatory certifications such as chemical compliance, Indonesia Halal certification, and Cosmos certification, and quality certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 22716, and European Cosmetic Ingredient Association certification. We have reduced greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and energy consumption by about 20% and reduced waste. We are continuing to pursue various activities for ESG management with the goal of increasing the recycling rate by about 4%.
