Samyang Group donated 300 million won to the Community Chest of Korea in celebration of the year-end and New Year holidays.
Samyang Group has been donating love-for-neighbor funds through the Community Chest of Korea every year since 2001. This fund was raised with Samyang Holdings and Samyang Innochem contributing 100 million won, and Samnam Petrochemical and Samyang Packaging contributing 50 million won each.
The donations delivered to the Community Chest of Korea this year will be used to: ▲ improve transportation convenience for the disabled, children, and the elderly, ▲ environmental projects such as ecological conservation and environmental education, ▲ foster talent for children and youth, and ▲ support self-reliance for young people in developing countries.
An official from Samyang Holdings said, “We hope that this donation will be of some help to our neighbors who are still having a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “Samyang Group will continue to strive to contribute to solving various social problems as well as the underprivileged.” reported.
Meanwhile, Samyang Group is taking the lead in donating money and goods to fulfill its corporate social responsibility and provide practical help to neighbors in need. In March of this year, a total of 200 million won was donated through the Korean Red Cross, including 150 million won in donations and 50 million won worth of medicine, as a donation for forest fire recovery in the East Coast region. During the forest fires in Gangwon-do that occurred in 2019 and the flood damage caused by heavy rain in 2020, they also donated 100 million won and 250 million won, respectively, including goods.
