[PANGYO STARTUP] Newjak completes patent registration for ‘augmented reality device and control method’

    ■ New media content development startup ‘Newjac’ completes patent registration related to augmented reality control

    ■ Provides augmented reality images depending on the moving display position… Display can be moved remotely

    ■ Companies located in Pangyo Startup Zone, development and production of realistic media content such as new media content , projection mapping , and VR

New media content development startup  Newjac Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Hae-hyun)’ announced on the 12th that it has recently developed the ‘augmented reality device and control method of augmented reality device’ technology and completed patent registration.

Newjak is a company located in the Pangyo Startup Zone, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Korea Startup Agency and the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center. We develop and produce realistic media content such as new media content, projection mapping, media facade, VR, and XR. The goal is to provide customized content tailored to the user’s situation and to further expand the scope of new media.

The ‘Augmented reality device and control method of the augmented reality device’ technology is a method of providing different augmented reality images depending on the position of the moving display. This technology allows users to remotely move the display, detect the location of the moved display, and display different content information depending on the moved location.

According to Newzak, it receives infrared signals sent by the remote controller, controls the driving unit based on the infrared signals, and emits laser signals. It is possible to control the augmented reality device by receiving the laser signal reflected from the display, detecting the location, and augmenting content information according to the detected location.

“This technology, for which a patent has been registered, can be applied to large displays, allowing many people to acquire various content information and anyone can directly move the device,” said Jeong Hae-hyun, CEO of Newjac. “It shows the possibility.”

Meanwhile, Newjak has produced Coca-Cola SNS advertisements for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, media contents for the 2019 Disney Animation Special Exhibition, and realistic contents for the Muan Airport Media Tower in 2020.
