Hancom Group (Chairman Sang-cheol Kim/hereinafter referred to as Hancom Group) and LIG Nex1 (CEO Ji-chan Kim) are collaborating for a smart defense project that incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as satellites, drones, and artificial intelligence.
Hancom Group and LIG Nex1 signed a business agreement in the conference room of Hancom Tower (located in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do) with key officials including Hancom Group Chairman Kim Sang-cheol and LIG Nex1 CEO Kim Ji-chan in attendance, and promised to establish a close cooperation system between the two companies.
In particular, through this agreement, the two companies will engage in technological cooperation and development of advanced weapon systems that combine the space and aviation fields, such as satellite and drone operation and control, video analysis, and drone systems. In addition, we plan to promote mutual human resource exchange and joint research to secure defense science and technology capabilities using ICT technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and software (SW).
The two companies plan to form a regular consultative body to promote commercialization to enable efficient use of joint research results and technologies, and to expand the scope of cooperation by exploring new smart defense projects utilizing this.
