[PANGYO ENTERPRISE] ADT Caps participates in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s ‘Emergency Safety and Safety Service’ establishment project

    – ADT Caps, together with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, established an ‘IoT care service’ for the elderly and the disabled living alone… Joint order with Opasnet

    – The system is scheduled to be distributed to 100,000 seniors living alone starting in September… Establish a response system for emergency situations such as fire, lack of activity, etc.

ADT Caps (CEO Park Jin-hyo) announced on the 31st that it signed a business contract with the Ministry of Health and Welfare to establish an ’emergency safety and security service’ for elderly households living alone.

ADT Caps has formed a consortium with Opasnet, an IT solution specialist company, to jointly pursue the ‘Emergency Safety and Safety Service’ project for the next five years. Through this project, ADT Caps plans to build an IoT care service system that can respond quickly in the event of an emergency, and begin distributing it to 100,000 senior citizens and the disabled starting in September. Thereafter, the plan is to expand the service target to a total of 200,000 people by 2022.

This ‘Emergency Safety and Safety Service’ establishment project was prepared as a response to the increase in social problems caused by depression and loneliness among seniors living alone due to the reduced social network due to COVID-19. In addition to effectively protecting the elderly and disabled in security blind spots, it is expected that systematic non-face-to-face care will be possible even in situations where visits and face-to-face visits are difficult.

The ‘Emergency Safety and Safety Service’ in which ADT Caps participates is a system that utilizes IoT terminals to provide rapid response to emergency situations for the elderly and the disabled who live alone and are exposed to many risks such as lonely death and fire. Through various sensors, it not only detects fire and entry, but also checks the subject’s activity level such as heart rate, breathing, and sleep, automatically monitors for abnormalities, and responds quickly with the 119 automatic reporting function. An emergency call button is also supported, so in case of an emergency, the patient can immediately connect to 119.

Lee Yong-hwan, general manager of ADT Caps, said, “It is meaningful to participate in the project to build a crisis response system for socially vulnerable people in need of care based on the security infrastructure and ICT technology that ADT Caps has accumulated over the years.” He added, “ADT Caps will continue to provide safety and care ( As a company that encompasses (Safety & Care), we will cooperate with government agencies and various industries to contribute to strengthening the social safety net and take the lead in enhancing the company’s ESG value.”
