“Cheolsu, tell me the weather.” You can now call Kakao smart speakers by any name you want, such as Kakao Mini and Mini Hexa. On the 6th, Kakao Enterprise announced that it had added a ‘call command’ setting function by applying a dedicated algorithm to Kakao’s smart devices. In addition to the existing call command ‘Hey Kakao’, you can freely set the call command to any name you want, such as your favorite celebrity or friendly character. It is also available on Kakao Mini, Mini Hexa, and Hey Kakao apps. A Kakao Enterprise official explained, “This is the only smart speaker equipped with the function to freely set voice call commands.” How to use it is simple. Just update the Heykakao app to the latest version and set the desired call command by clicking ‘Call command → My call command menu’ on the speaker settings page of the Heykakao app. You can register more than 3 syllables and less than 6 syllables. To ensure smooth use, a self-suitability check for commands is conducted. It is used to filter words that are difficult for speakers to recognize or words that are difficult to pronounce. The policy is to pre-block slang or sensational expressions through the slang detection API so that they cannot be registered. A Kakao Enterprise official said, “This is a feature that reflects user demand to freely change the calling command,” and added, “If you have multiple speakers, you can diversify the way you call each speaker.”
