Born2Global Center (Center Director Kim Jong-gap) announced on the 29th that joint venture member Team Grit (CEO Kim Ki-ryeong) recently established a joint venture, R2 (Remote Robotics), in Yokohama, Japan, and began targeting the Japanese robot market.
The company that established a joint venture with Team Grit is Enkocare, which specializes in IT consulting in Japan. TeamGrit is a real-time video web service company specializing in the Internet of Things (IoT), specializing in web-based real-time communication with ultra-low-latency video delivery and remote control technology. Currently, we are participating in the overseas expansion support project for DNA convergence product services operated by the Born2Global Center.
TeamGrit plans to use the joint venture as a base for partnerships with local robot companies and service platform marketing. Through the joint venture, we are expanding our collaboration with Japanese robotics (autonomous driving/Internet of Things-based) device companies and developing our own ultra-low-latency, high-quality video transmission and reception as well as remote control solution ‘SPIDER’ server and simple for low-end Internet of Things devices. We plan to provide the video transmission and reception solution ‘MOTH’ server.
Team Grit has already been recognized for its technology by supplying robot remote control solutions to Kyocera Group, a Japanese 5G operator.
The first official activities of the joint venture will begin with an RC car racing competition and robot creation event held at a Japanese department store in the first half of 2022. On November 10, Team Grit localized the ‘Hello Mars 2021’ platform held in Korea. TeamGrit has developed technology to remotely control RC car robots equipped with cameras, communication, and software in a 5G MEC (Mobile Edge Computing) environment. An experiential game controlled by laptops and smartphones was successfully conducted over two months for students as well as the general public.
The establishment of Team Grit’s joint venture in Japan was accomplished through the overseas expansion support project for DNA convergence products and services operated by the Born2Global Center starting in 2021. We support innovative technology companies to enter the global market in the form of joint ventures. From discovering and forming joint venture partnerships to establishing and operating joint ventures, we provide full support to domestic and foreign startups in all aspects necessary for joint research and development, verification, and market entry.
