
Mr. Dad Co., Ltd. (CEO Seo Jun-ryeol) will hold the ‘7 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 26’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, July 28th to Friday, July 3th. )’.
Mr. Dad is a company that promotes itself as a ‘local food market’ company and provides agricultural, livestock and marine products directly from the country of origin to local stores and food ingredient sellers without storing them in warehouses. The company explains that by dramatically reducing the distribution stage, the costs consumed in the process are greatly reduced, and as a result, reasonable food is provided to consumers.
They have built an innovative example of lowering the waste rate of fresh food through flexible inventory management by selling both online and offline. As such, they were selected as ‘Baby Unicorns’ by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups last year for their business activities that pursue social value that coexists with small business owners in the region. It has been done.
In this exhibition, Mr. Dad presents the various regional food groups it handles. We have a diverse product line, including 5 types of ‘Mr. Dad’s dried fish’, a local product from Busan, salmon from Geoje, Gyeongnam, gomtang and rib soup from Haman, Gyeongnam, eggs, and fruits and vegetables from Gyeongbuk. The policy is to contribute to the development of local food markets for local farmers and fishermen by introducing various processed foods based on local agricultural and marine products.
An official from Mr. Dad said, “We have been exporting fresh and processed foods to various Asian markets since the second half of last year, and are continuing to grow, generating sales of over KRW 3 million every month.” He added, “A large number of processed foods are spreading their influence into the global market. “We plan to exhibit and introduce them to visitors, and at the same time, provide consultation regarding the operation of the ‘Local Market’ showroom, an offline store directly managed by the company.”
He added, “I decided to participate in this exhibition to publicize the purpose and results of a win-win project that will revive local cities through socializing that connects regions and people, and promote region-based K-food to the world.”
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and supervised by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
