Camello Tech Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Won-cheol) held the ‘Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 7’ held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from July 26 (Wed) to 28 (Fri). ‘ said he would participate.
Carmelotech is a green bio startup based on oriental medicine, researching and developing natural materials, devices (H/W), and firmware (S/W) and providing innovative solutions to oriental medical institutions.
After signing an MOU with a domestic university oriental medicine hospital, the device 1.0 model was developed through technical exchanges and research, and the ‘Herbal medicine Automatic Pharmaceutical System’ (HAPS), which supplemented the shortcomings through PoC, was completed.
HAPS is an all-in-one system capable of automatic preparation, automatic manufacturing (decoction manufacturing), automatic packing (packaging), automatic cleaning, and UV sterilization of oriental medicine. Camelotech’s formulation standardization technology standardizes herbal medicines by type, individual processing, and pill form, thereby improving pharmacological effects and storage efficiency compared to the existing method, and reducing inventory burden.
In particular, when a standardized oriental medicine cartridge is installed in HAPS and a user (oriental doctor) sends a prescription to the system through an electronic chart, oriental medicine is automatically prepared in a maximum of 5 minutes. Regarding this, an official said, “Both large and small prescriptions are possible, and the unit price of hospital visits increases, and patients can receive herbal medicine on the same day after completing treatment.”
An official from Carmelotech said, “Unlike western hospitals, which are divided in labor, oriental medicine hospitals handle the work of hospitals, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical companies in one place, and all tasks have been performed manually by people. With the advent of the decoction machine, people do not have to brew the medicine themselves, but there is still the inconvenience of having to go through the human hands from preparation, extraction, and packaging of herbal medicine,” he said. “To solve this problem, HAPS was devised.” The development background was introduced.
He continued, “HAPS is a revenue model similar to the toner business for multifunction devices. “It is a service that selects HAPS according to the number of cartridges installed and subscribes to cartridges at any time,” he said. We will export to Japan’s Campo Medi, which is six times larger,” he said of his business plan.
Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, the largest Agtech & Foodtech event in Korea, domestic startups with global growth potential in Agtech, Foodtech, and Green Bio will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries, Various programs such as conferences discussing the present and future of Agtech and Foodtech and investment briefings (IR competitions) are held.
