Rainbow Pintos (CEO Kim Jeong-wook) announced that it will participate in ‘K-PRINT 8’, which will be held at the 23nd exhibition hall of KINTEX in Ilsan from Wednesday, August 26 to Saturday, August 2.

Rainbow Pintos, whose main content is 3D optical holograms, is producing content that presents a unique visual experience to the public through ‘real 3D holograms’. A 3D hologram can be said to be the result of recording a three-dimensional image using the light interference effect caused by two laser lights meeting each other. Hologram is a compound word of ‘holos’, meaning complete, and ‘-gram’, meaning picture, and can be seen as a technology that records all information about a subject.

3D optical hologram is a method of actually recording the image of the subject on film, rather than simply reflecting and reproducing the video or image coming from the display. Lasers are the only light that produces interference with a ‘constant’ shape and regularity. If you shoot a laser at an object and record the ‘interference phenomenon’ that occurs when the laser touches the object on film, the surface shape of the object will appear three-dimensional. The company explained that the biggest feature and difference is that it can be recorded on film to leave a trace, and because it goes through the same developing process as a photograph, it can be preserved differently from existing floating holograms.

Another difference lies in the keyword ‘real hologram’. In order to view various sides of the image played in a pseudo-hologram, such as the top, bottom, and sides, it is necessary to create an ‘image’ that can show multiple sides of the material to the viewer. However, an optical hologram is a still image that neither moves nor reproduces the image, but it can convey to the viewer various information about the subject recorded on a single thin film.

At this exhibition, you can see Rainbow Pintos’ 3D optical hologram technology. A Rainbow Pintos official said, “Floating holograms, which are currently the most widely used, have the disadvantage that individuals cannot possess the hologram experience. However, optical holograms create three-dimensional images with just a single piece of film, and anyone can own them. In addition, even if you do not have expertise in optical holograms, you can easily create content yourself, which is what differentiates us in the hologram market.”

Based on this, Rainbow Pintos has produced a number of glasses-free 3D person holograms, object holograms, rainbow holograms, pulse laser holograms, and digital holograms using 3D hologram art content. The explanation is that the plan was designed to secure expertise in 3D optical hologram content technology and lay the foundation for entering the market.

Rainbow Pintos won the ‘International Bio Art Contest’ in 2018, the permanent exhibition ‘Jeju City Hall Jeju Starlight Planetarium 2020D HOLOGRAPHY’ in 3, the ‘Porsche DREAMERS ON’ exhibition at the Gwangju Design Biennale in 2021, and the ‘ASIA HOTEL ARTFAIR SEOUL We have held numerous exhibitions, including the ‘ARTFAIR 2021’ exhibition. Through these exhibitions, we have accumulated expertise in the field and planned and provided various contents so that the public can easily access optical holograms anywhere.

An official said, “Rather than being complacent, Rainbow Pintos’ ultimate goal is to develop content and services so that the public can easily access holograms and have the same popularity as regular photos.” He added, “In addition, with the service being prepared for launch, “We are planning a hologram one-day class where individuals can create their own hologram images, and a hologram photo studio where individuals can record their memories with holograms.”
